Week 25 Year 2

Hey babe,

It's back to school/reality week!

I knew it was going to be hard since you just had the best grandma week ever but our first day back on Monday went well, a few tears but overall a good start.

Tuesday was a different story! Your classroom was attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets! Your teacher did a great job and reacted quickly to get everyone out as soon as possible. However, you were stung 6 times. 3 in the left cheek, 1 on the left shoulder, 1 on your left had and 1 on your left thigh. As soon as I got the call, I raced to the school. It was a bit chaotic but I could tell you were taken care of well! We then quickly headed to the doctors' office. I knew you weren't having an allergic reaction but I wanted them to see you. They gave you Benadryl and some cream and sent us home. You took a long 3 1/2 hour nap and when you woke up you said, "All gone!"

The Benadryl helped the swelling a ton!

Post nap snooze cuddle!

 So needless to say the rest of the week was very emotional although you powered through it like a champ!

Week 24 Year 2 (Part 2)

Part II of Grandma Week

Mimi's (Grandma Nan) Visit

Reme Lynn, 

Once again, you were showered with MORE gifts! I'm so glad that you were but I hope that your Grandmas know that we are so thankful just to have them here! Mimi surprised you with new coloring books and art supplies, a new game and a special stuffed puppy from Aubrey. It was one she made especially for you at Build-a-Bear. You loved hers while we were in the Outer Banks so she thought you'd love one of your own and you did! You named her Sparkle and she even has her own outfits! 

On Wednesday we had plans to have dinner with your daddy's former music teacher Carla & her family! (He helped her son get a new guitar) So we had dinner INSIDE the Rainforest Cafe! What a treat! We also just happened to be at "the shops" so just HAD to stop by the Disney Store! There you spotted the Princess Tea Party set that you watch on YouTube all of the time and you grabbed that box and it was game over! You were so incredibly excited! Of course Mimi bought that for you! Then Daddy bought you some new Legos! See what I mean by spoiled???!!! 

You had so much fun with Mimi each day while your dad and I worked. You took a few long naps and were very rested when we came home!

 

Finally the weekend! Friday we met up with the Goldens and Murdocks at Arrington Vineyards for a nice relaxing evening! All of you kids explored the grape vines, played with toys, rolled around and had a great time! The adults did too by the way! It was a perfect night!

Saturday I had plans to be with my friends to celebrate Aunt Cole's birthday so you got some fun alone time with just you, Mimi and Daddy! You three went did some more shopping at Home Goods (where you procured yes...more toys) and then you went back to Little Treasures! 

Aunt Mindy, Grandpa, Aubrey & Uncle John sent pictures of them at the Cattaraugus County Fair!

Mimi left super early on Sunday morning! 

Phew what a week! These times are so precious to all of us! You are growing up so quickly! You have an immense vocabulary, you love to sing, play tea party & Play Doh, "puddle", play games and you carefully and gently take care of all of your "friends" (which are your stuffed animals and dolls)-(they alternate favorites, we never know which one it will be for the day). It is such a delight to the heart to watch. You make them all pallets on the floor, cover them up and pat them while saying, "I'm right here, I'm right here"! Such a gentle and loving soul!

Week 24 Year 2 (Part 1)

Part 1 of Grandma Week

Gma's (Gmomma) Visit

Reme Lynn,

You have been super spoiled this last week! 

Gma showed up with a bundle of goodies! As if her presence wasn't "present" enough! We picked her up from the airport on Friday night (7/31/15) and went to have some dinner. Then when we got home you two raced to the bedroom for the unveiling! It started with some bed jumping and then followed by the "never ending" present reveal! She brought you new outfits, books, games & toys! You two had a ball and it was such a joy to watch!

The next morning we did our normal morning ritual of snacking breakfast type items, playing, having tea and watching those silly videos on YouTube and then we headed off to Boro Beach in Murfreesboro. It's a local water park and it was pretty cool! I'm glad we got there early because it wasn't too busy and it wasn't too hot! We enjoyed ourselves for a while and then off to more shopping!

As you know we have been on the prowl to complete our princess Play Doh kingdom and only lacked the Aurora castle...so we found it!

Oh the glasses - I wish you would wear them all the time!

You spent Saturday night with Gma all by yourself (so mommy and daddy could have a date night) and then on Sunday morning....drumroll...........

 

We made WAFFLES!

 Followed by a romp at the zoo checking out their new tortoise exhibit! 

You were a little freaked out by the tortoises but to be totally honest, I was a little bit too! They move faster than you would think and they like sparkly things (cue sparkle shoes)!

More spoiling and one on one time with the Gma continued Monday through Tuesday!

Tuesday was the "Changing of the Guards"...well the Grands! Grandma Nan and Gma got to visit a bit and then luck be have it Gma's flight was delayed so she was able to join us for dinner!

It was so hard to see her go! Your Gma (by the way, that's my momma) loves you so much! She is an incredibly smart, versatile and loving person! She has taught me so much in life! I hope to share that with you some day! (Psst...I've already started)

P.S. I got to meet Baby Max!! He's quite adorable! I'm hoping the next time we see him together, you will be more accepting of me touching another human being under the age of 5!

 

Week 23 Year 2

Réme Lynn,

We started the weekend with a trip to Kmart because you did so well for drop offs all week! We have really struggled with drop offs from day one but they have gotten worse since we switched to the new school! We started a new routine  that involves talking about what to expectl every step of the way and it is working very well! 

You picked out a new Play Doh set! Ariel's Underwater Palace and some Princess nail polishes! 

This as the first time you have requested that I take your picture! 

Saturday you spent the day with Daddy while I helped the Janiszewskis get ready for baby Max's arrival and then you and I went to Audrey's 2nd birthday! You fell asleep on the way and didn't want to wake up so you slept in the car for most of the party!

We had your follow up appointment with they eye doctor and your eyes aren't improving and we need to make you wear them more consistently! We will be better about it for sure!

Summer break has officially begun and we are so excited to have Gmomma & Grandma visiting!
