Week 13 Year 1

Hey baby doll,
I feel like it has been the longest week! We have done so much! We flew to Dallas to celebrate your cousin Gavin's first birthday! You did such a great job on the plane! We were expecting the worse because of your tantrums lately and all of the teething but we keep you snacked up and you watch your DVD player just as happy as can be! It's so funny to see people sort if cringe when they see us waiting to get on the plane and as we head down the aisle!

Then we hit the ground running! We visited with your Great Mimi, your Great Grandad and then we went on a boat ride with your Grandad, Naw Naw, aunt, uncle & cousins! You loved it!! You didn't love the life jacket but got used to it quickly!

(We were safely docked when this photo was taken!)

The next day was the big party! It was a long day filled with family, friends, food & fun! You tried your first real cupcake and loved it! You also scarfed a bunch of strawberries & apples! You were a happy camper until we decided to take another boat ride, you were spent! And you let us know about it!

We went to brunch with the gang the next morning and headed home! Once again you were a dream! Five hours of traveling with 2 car rides, 2 bus rides and an hour & a half flight we were home!! It was a terrific trip!

Phew!! We didn't stop there! We took the dog to the park on Tuesday!

Wednesday you had your 15 month checkup at the doctor. 3 more shots! You are not a fan of them and I don't blame you. Everything else looks great though! You are 22.8 lbs & 30 inches tall! We followed that up with a trip to Jeni's ice cream, the East Nashville Farmer's Market and grocery shopping!! What a fun afternoon!!

You went crazy in the petting pen!! You kept chasing the duck saying "chichen chichen"!

I love you more than words can even come close to express!!

You are my heart, my breath and my joy!

Always,
Mommy

Week 12 Year 1

Oh baby, oh baby,

You are apparently going through some phases lately! You are teething and getting your molars and you have become extremely attached to your pacifier. I mean extremely attached! We try to only give it to you at night but the last couple of days you search for it and bang on the door of your room and throw yourself on the floor if you can't have it!

You have also decided that you don't want to take a bath anymore. This is a big shocker to me because you have always loved being in the water. It's time for your 15 month check up so we'll ask the doctor to make sure you're okay.

We went to East Texas for Aundmaw's memorial service. It was very beautiful! There were a lot of people there. It was a long service and you did very well! At one point you decided to cheer up the crowd and did a little dance on the alter during communion! It was very sweet! It was so nice to be with our family and it meant a lot to all of us. We will miss Andrea very much!

We also celebrated Mothers Day! You and your daddy took me out to eat at a very nice restaurant called Husk! Once again you were on your best behavior and we had a lovely night! I am so proud to be your mommy!

I love you to the moon and back,
Mommy

Week 11 Year 1

Hey baby girl,

It's been a quiet week. We've been preparing to go to Texas for Andrea's memorial service and I have been working a lot more than normal.

Our weekend was very special and filled with family time! You and I went shopping on Saturday morning and had so much fun. You really are a great shopper (94% of the time)! You are very patient and if there are snacks & mirrors, you are very content! You love to look at yourself in the mirror! It's so adorable! You make yourself laugh and you make all kinds of faces! Later we played in the yard, watered the plants, planted some carrots and did more chalk art! Daddy was mowing the lawn and gave you a couple of mower rides! You really enjoyed that! Talk about adorable!!

Sunday we went to a strawberry patch in Warsaw, TN called Valley Home Farms! You didn't quite know what to think. You liked carrying the baskets but didn't care too much for the strawberries! You liked the chickens though!

You are teething again, I'm pretty sure your back molars are coming in. I can only imagine how uncomfortable that must be!

Your new favorite thing to do is to push the dining room chairs around. You like to put something on them like a doll or toy or towel and give them a ride!

You are so amazing!

I love you,
Mommy

This was the Mother's Day card you made at school!! Love it!

Week 10 Year 1

Réme Lynn,

This week has been full of ups and downs. We've talked about this before, about how life is made up challenges, excitement, disappointment, peace, sadness, happiness and so much more! There is a constant ebb & flow!

Our sweet Aundmaw passed away today. She was such a special soul. She loved you so very much. She was so sweet and kind and caring and giving and gentle. We are going to miss her her so much! She had an unwavering faith in God and I can feel her smiling right now.

The rest of the week has been very mellow. We had a beautiful day on Saturday just the two of us! We went shopping and played at the park and worked in the yard and had a great time.

We also went to Ian and his play. He was Capt. Hook in Peter Pan! He did such a great job! However you did not like his costume!

Sunday we just chilled out at the house & did a little housework and enjoyed the lovely weather!

Life is so precious Réme! It is something to be cherished and never taken for granted! Everyday is important! Every moment to be remembered! Especially the small ones!

I love you more than I could ever explain!

Always,
Mommy
