Week 17 & 18 Year 2

Hello my sweet monkey,

As I sit here writing this letter, you are once again hanging out in your crib singing to yourself. Why you aren't asleep yet is beyond my imagination! We started our bedtime routine (bath, vitamin, teeth, read, sing, rock, snuggle and sing some more, wash the paci, one more song) early tonight too! I had you down for the second round of singing by 8pm. Now it's a quarter till nine and you are wide awake, it seems that you are anyway. You could be seconds away from passed out!

I have two weeks to catch up in this letter so I better get going!

Remember that I mentioned it was hot?!? Well it is! We started the day early with a walk in the park followed by a dip in the pool at Jaime & Mollie's house!

Yep, you got your bathing suit wet so immediately took it off!

You put this hat on and said, "I'm Teve!"

Then it was time to celebrate Stella's 4th birthday!

We took our annual trip to the pet shop, bought her a new leash, some toys and treats! Then we went to a dog friendly spot for dinner! You and Stella have definitely grown to like each other and I'm sure that adoration will grow!

Sunday we got up early again and went for a nice long walk and then a little playtime in the park! My goal was to wear you out so you'd take a nap before The Wizard of Oz!!

We borrowed this dress from Mollie but I had to convince you that Dorothy was a princess so you'd wear it!

You were also won over by the fact you got to bring your dog Max!

Here we are at the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall to see Studio Tenn's production of the Wizard of Oz!
You did very well for a 3 hour show! You got a tad restless during the second act but for a 2 year old that didn't take a nap...that was impressive! You were a HUGE hit too! Everyone LOVED your dress and complimented you all day! You even got a free poster of Dorothy for dressing up!

A magician came to your school to perform! You apparently were one of few that helped and were very involved! You'll take any change you get to touch a rabbit! He made doves appear and pulled a rabbit out of his hat!

Water day #3 at school! All of the kids are getting more adventurous!

It rained us out on Friday night and our fun plans were cancelled so we made our own inside fun and built a fort!!

Saturday you and I had brunch with the "Megans" at our favorite Pied Piper Eatery and then it was a quick trip to the shops for a train ride, a glasses reward (you got a Rapunzel doll and nightgown) and some hair flare!

You wear your glasses almost all day at school!

Your dad and I are celebrating our 5th year wedding anniversary and I surprised him with a getaway night in the hotel where we spent our wedding night! He was so surprised! You stayed home with Caroline and you two at a blast! You made cookies, watched movies, camped out in the living room and had cinnamon rolls for breakfast! It was the first time since you were born that your dad and I had a night alone! It was so nice to reconnect and we missed you terribly!

Then Sunday was Father's Day!! We took it easy that afternoon and we all took long naps! Then we took dad out for sushi! We decided to sit outside and it was so hot it was almost unbearable! I think you were too hot because you hardly ate a thing! Your daddy loves you more than anything!! It was indeed a happy Father's day! He loved his cards, his photo album of your weekend together and the $$ Shave Club membership!
**this is my new favorite picture of you two!

 You change so quickly!
You are so tall now, your little fat rolls almost faded away, you love to sing, you're fulling potty trained (still wear a diaper at night but only because you're still in the crib), you are feisty and finicky, you aren't an adventurous eater, you are a bit of a cry baby, you throw epic tantrums, you get very jealous whenever I hold another child, you give the best hugs, you are very loving and make us smile all the time!

This week at school they had Monkey-tastix! You LOVED it! Once again in the middle of it all! They brought in a physical obstacle course with a trampoline, tunnel and balance beams!

Happy first birthday to Emma Dawn!! We are going to miss her big party but we'll make up for it when we come home!

We are gearing up for our big trip to Outer Banks! We leave tomorrow evening! We are so excited! You talk about the "beach" and seeing the family!

I love you more than words can say,
Momma

Week 16 Year 2

Reme,

The weather is FINALLY hot! Like good hot! You know the kind of hot that makes your face all red and sweat! That is my favorite type of hot! I am a big fan of hot. I'm not quite sure if you are or not though. You seem to be so far but the verdict is still out!

We celebrated Aunt CC all weekend last weekend! Starting on Saturday with a picnic at Arrington Vineyard! Oh do I love this spot! It's just lovely! We had such a nice time sitting in the grass, swinging, snacking and chatting!

Later that night it was a grown ups only evening and you hung out with Caroline! We love her so! She had her 25th birthday on the 8th! Still haven't celebrated her near enough yet! We should and will take her to ice cream very soon!!

Then the next day it was a pool day! Again, this is your momma's element! I could hang out in the hot heat by a pool all day everyday! My goal is to eventually talk your daddy into getting one! You'll have to help me with that one!

You are very brave in the water! I foresee you becoming the little fishy Pisces you are any day now! You love to jump in and then jump out so you can dry off your face. This is EXACTLY like your cousin Aubrey was at your age! I love it!!

There was a petting zoo day at your school on Tuesday. We made the mistake of saying the word zoo and you sort of misunderstood that the "zoo" was coming to YOU! It was an emotional drop off (well...all of them are lately) but from the pictures posted by your school I can tell you were loving it! They said that you were practically the only kid that enjoyed petting the animals and didn't fuss at all! You often say you want to be a farmer!

Your great Aunt Deen Deen had this BRILLANT idea of an award system for wearing your glasses and it has worked very well! If you wear them for 15 minutes then you get a chocolate chip and a star! Then after 15 stars you get "choice", just like with potty training! Sometimes you wear them for 45 minutes!!! So happy she gave us this idea! I do have my doubts of if your prescription is right but we'll see the doctor soon for your follow up! All in all we just want you to be able to see well and not do any harm to your sweet eyes!

Friday was WATER DAY at school again and this time we brought in your splash pad! You don't seem to love it at home and I thought maybe that if you saw other kids using it then you would too. Well...that sort of back fired and you were extremely emotional. I even stayed for over an hour to help set it up and played for a long time. You never quite recovered even after I left! We are going to let them use it for the rest of the year, hopefully you will eventually enjoy yourself. You're my fishy!!! Go get wet girl!

We're finding our way each day my love,
Momma

Week 15 Year 2

Reme Lynn,

We now have 2 solid weeks of the "big school" under our belts and while drop offs are mostly emotional, I can tell you are really enjoying it!

They have all kinds of special days planned for you all this summer like water day, ice cream day, bike day, petting zoo day and more! It will be a ton of fun! Just like summer should be!

We have enjoyed some nice outings during the week this week! We met up with Jaime and Mollie for some snow cones and a walk on the putt putt golf course and then you and I went to the East Nashville Farmer's Market!

You only wear a diaper at go to bed at night and you have been a rock star using the restroom in public! We take your princess potty seat cover with us most of the time and that helps a lot! We did have one instance this week that just broke my heart. You chose not to use the restroom after grocery shopping (in hindsight I should have been more adamant about making you go) and once we got on the road you began to show signs of needing to go. You held and held it and I could tell it was starting to hurt so we pulled over and I tried to get you to go on the curb but you wouldn't and so we put a diaper on you so you could go but you wouldn't and decided to hold it until we got home. You screamed in agony all the way home, luckily it wasn't too far but my heart was breaking for you! Once we got home, we quickly ran inside and even after you got to go, you were so worked up that it took a good long while to calm down. We will now travel with a little potty chair in case this happens again!

We welcomed to the world Lily Marie Marti on 5/30/15
This is your cousin Meredith's little girl! So that makes her your 2nd cousin (I think)!

We celebrated your good friend and classmate Avery's birthday! It was a beautiful day for it and everyone had so much fun!

You chose to only eat the sprinkles!

Once you get wet (even just a little) you have to take off whatever you are wearing so you ran around the latter part of the party naked and were soon joined by Annie! It was pretty cute!

On Sunday we had a family lunch date with the Goldens and the Murdocks!

You look so tall here to me!

We wanted to do a little mini photo shoot with you girls so we got you all dressed up in Chucks and Tutus! I thought for SURE you would NEVER wear anything on your head and would run screaming but actually you did the opposite! You were a little modeling angel! I was blown away!

You never cease to amaze me!

I love you,
Momma
