Week 6 Year 1

Réme Lynn,

We had a fun play date with our friends Lindsey & Hazel this weekend! You gals are just too cute! You don't really play together as much as watch each other but I assume that will change someday! You're only 3 days apart!

Even though daddy had to work overtime all week and on Saturday he was so excited to come home and immediately wanted to take us out & do something fun! Such a great daddy!! We went to McKay's bookstore! It's a huge warehouse full of used books, movies & games! None of us had been before so we had no idea what to expect. So we're in the children's section and I'm showing you books and you and your daddy are looking at DVDs. He finds one called Animal Clinic, it has a lovely cover with all kinda of animals and you are hooked! You won't put it down! Even when we go to leave you just have to have this old probably cheesy movie from the 80s! It was only $5 so we get it for you and tease you on the way home how we're for sure going to watch it! Turns out there was NO DVD in the case!! We laughed so hard at this!! You are enjoying looking at the cover though! 

You have always been somewhat of a clean eater. You're not a big fan of your hands being duty but this week you have discovered the joy of spitting out your food! We try not to laugh but honestly it's hilarious!! I hope it's just a phase!

We went back Monkey Joe's and this time we went with Alli, Tanner & Audrey! It was sort of late in the day and we were the only ones there!! It was like we owned the place! Too much fun! We slide down every slide and jumped in every house! 

You've been favoring your ear lately & since you had to go back for your iron test I had them check your ears and you had a huge ball of wax in one! No wonder it was bothering you! 

 

The days have been just beautiful and we took Stella to the dog park on Sunday! You got lots a doggie kisses from all kinds of puppies! 

It was great fun and we ran into our friends Mikaela, Becca & Gabriella too! 

You've been very cuddly lately! I hope that phase lasts!!

Week 5 Year 1

Oh my little mobile chickadee, 

You have hit the ground walking! It all officially started on Tuesday during Kindermusik, you were really stretching you legs! I was so proud of you and how brave and strong you were being! Then yesterday after school I stood you up by the ottoman and turned around to make you so milk and when I turned back around you were gone! Then all of a sudden you appeared from behind the couch just walking like it was no big deal. You've been doing it all your life! You haven't stopped yet! That's not to say you don't still crawl but you clearly have crossed a threshold. Go baby go! 

We had another fun filled weekend! Mollie's official birthday party where you played hard at the park for 3 solid hours! We all had a great time! You now love to slide all by yourself and even came diving down head first once! But let's not forget the magic of the wood chips! 

You even got your face painted! 

Sunday was Fam-Fun day but first we did some quick cleaning! You even pitched in to help! Many hands make light work. 

Then we went to this cool jumpy house place called Monkey Joe's! It took you a while to warm up but once you did you had a ball! You were fearless! 

You did your first modeling job this week for CASA! You're going to be the Red Shoe Party poster child. You were a mighty fine model and did such a great job! They were impressed! 

You are officially a sippy cup only gal now too! You have transitioned seamlessly! Way to go baby!!

Week 4 Year 1 or 13 months

Happy 13th Month in this World my love!

What a great week this has been! I don't even know where to start! 

We had a fun filled weekend featuring life size Dinasours at the zoo, your first real time in a theater seeing Shrek the Musical and your first time at Chuck E Cheese! You loved every second of it! 

I didn't get any pictures at Shrek because well you can't take pictures during live theater and you fell asleep during the second act so we slipped out during curtain call. You were so good during the show! We were pretty far away and I think if we had been closer you wouldn't have gotten a little restless but nonetheless it worked out perfectly! You were particularly fond of the tap dancing number with the Pied Piper & mice! All of the fast dance numbers had your attention. We'll be seeing more of those for sure! 

Miss Mollie turned TWO on Monday & had a mini celebration at Chuck E Cheese's! You, as usual, took it all in! Not a huge fan of the giant mouse (which is funny because the giant Dinasours didn't phase you at all) but you loved riding in the little cars! We did some tunnel crawling too!! 

You have been sleeping so well, drop offs at school are smooth, you are eating like a champ and try new things all the time! You don't necessarily like them but you try them! Next we're going to start working on transitioning you to a sippy cup! You're getting more and more brave with walking on your own too! I know I say this all the time but you change everyday! Your dad sent me this picture the other day and it caught me off guard! You look so different, grown up! It took my breath away a little!

 

Spring is finally here but you are what makes the days beautiful!

Week 3 Year 1

Réme Baby,

What a great week we have had! The Corams were in the neighborhood and we had an impromptu hang & dinner! It was so fun! We went to the Tofu House and you & HT devoured some rice!! That's one thing the two of you have in common!! You love some food!! 

Saturday we had a fun brunch/play date with Jaime & Mollie! They moved into a new home and it's gorgeous! It was so cute to see you two girls playing together! Mollie kept calling you Réme Baby and I like it! 

It was a beautiful day outside and you fell asleep in the swing! You looked so cute Jaime decided to give it to us! No I'm just kidding, Moll has grown out of it so we're going to use it until they have another little one!! 

We cleaned it up and it's now in your playroom! You love the slide! 

We then stopped by Street Theatre so I could drop off a few things and they we're having rehearsal for a musical and you were loving it!! I mean big time! You were dancing and couldn't take your eyes off of the band! I love that!! 

Sunday was another lovely day! We had lunch with CC & Lauren to celebrate her birthday! We stopped into Barnes & Noble and you were screaming your head off! Not in a bad way, you were super excited about being there and checking out books & toys! 

Yellow ball! Look at that red hair! 

We met Jaim & Moll  later that afternoon for a quick romp in the park! It turns out you really love wood chips! Sliding was okay, the swing was just okay but the wood chips...now we're talking!! 

I know now how I'm going to keep you occupied while we work in the yard this year!! 

You are slowly transitioning to real milk. Your latest word is "yes" but it sounds like "yesh". You eat Mac & Cheese by the handful. You hold your bottle by yourself and it makes you seem so grown up! You're obsessed with fruit that is tossed in graham cracker crumbs! It's the best way to drop you off at school now! I sit you at the table, open the bowl & it's on!! No one better even think about touching your fruit! You are very protective of that bowl!! Seriously! So funny!! You brush your own teeth now too!! 

The white kitty is your new favorite car pal! 

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine! You make me happy when skies are gray!

Week 2 Year 1

Réme Lynn,

Thursdays are going to be the new post day and I'm not used to that yet! 

I have to tell you that turning one seems to have flipped a switch in you. Suddenly you're a new kid! 

Sleeping through the night (I probably just jinxed us), talking up a storm, taking more steps on your own, mimicking movements, sounds and songs! It's amazing! Your new word is dada! You know who he is and you say it all the time! We've also discovered that yellow is your favorite color! You pick out the yellow balls, blocks, letters and scarves! It's really neat to see that happen! 

You had your one year check up and are progressing well! You are a little low on iron but other than that you're a healthy girl! 20lbs & 29 inches! 

We went to this really cool place called the Discovery Center to celebrate Dr. Suess's birthday and we all had a blast! We will for sure go again and explore all of the neat things they have!

It's so exciting to see you explore, learn and grow!!
