Week 10 Year 2

Hey baby girl,

How cool is it that Daddy wrote you a letter?!? Best daddy ever! He loves you so much and I'm so glad you got to spend so much private special time together! I did miss you both so much but it was nice to be with my girlfriends too! I think it is so important to spend time with your friends and to be sure to focus on them when you can. They deserve it and without them you wouldn't be who you are today. I/we/you have been blessed with incredible people in our lives! This we will always cherish and nurture!

We spent most of the week, relaxing and doing our thing and the weekend brought much fun!

Friday was the Zoovie night at the zoo and we were so looking forward to it but it got rained out! Never fear...we'll make our own fun! Mollie and Jaime came over and we had a picnic in YOUR zoo and played like crazy then chilled out and watched a movie...just like if we were at the zoo!

This is Molllie teaching you...well she was just climbing out of your bed but you were watching (and learning from) her and she was so sweet when I asked her not to show you that yet! I asked her to pretend like she couldn't climb out and that cutie pie did! It was really quite adorable! Don't learn to climb out of that bed  yet! We're not ready!! Although, we're close!

Movie snuggles!!

The next morning we had some errands to run and luck have it Mollie and Jamie were going to be in the same area so we made a pit stop to Monkey's Treehouse (where you had your birthday party)! We had a blast! We love that place! We climbed and crawled and dressed up and shopped and drove cars and trains and baked pies!!

You hate wearing shoes by the way...as a matter of fact, you're not a big fan of clothes all together!

Later that night, we went out to eat with Daddy. We tried a new Mexican place in Franklin. Next door was this place called Goofballs "Family Fun Center". So we decided to give it a try. We had no idea what to expect! It was SOOO cool! They were closing soon so we were the only ones in the place! There was this room with "jungle gyms" with slides and stairs and ladders and soft golf balls to throw at each other and shoot out of cannons!!! Oh boy oh boy did we have fun!! We are so going back there! (On a Saturday...30 minutes before they close!!)

We slept in all weekend but you slept until almost 9am on Sunday!(Thanks!) Once we got up and got going we decided to try out the Franklin Main Street Festival. Not sure why we spent so much time in Franklin this weekend but hey...why not, right? It was okay. It was a bit cold and crowded but lots of sights, smells and sounds to take in. We spent about 45 minutes in a bookstore, played on several bouncy house/obstacle courses, danced and listened to a few bands, pet some farm animals, rode a pony and snacked a little bit! It was mellow and I felt like it was some good quality family time together!

Since then we've done some shopping (Target & "Cookie" Publix) and focused on family time at home!

You are refusing to wear your glasses right now and that bums me out but I understand. One step at a time a suppose. We'll get there...I hope!

Drop offs at school have been smooth and pick ups beyond joyful!

You...oh baby...you...are growing way to quickly...I love it and cherish it like you'll never know!

Week 9 Year 2

Reme Lynn

I get to write to you this week because we had the chance to spend a long weekend together. Your mom went to Florida with some friends for some beach time. I had one goal in mind for our time together and that was to keep you as busy as possible! And I think we succeeded in that goal. I picked you up Friday after I was done with work. The movie DisneyNature Monkey Kingdom was coming out and I thought it would be a good first for us.  So I took you to your first movie!

You made it a good hour and it was getting close to bedtime so we headed home and both went to bed.

We woke up Saturday, had some waffles, and then headed to a toy store! Needless to say you always gravitate toward the trains and the kitty cat play sets that they have have out. Nothing too exciting but I wanted to keep you moving and get you to bed for a nap.

Next up was Kaelyn's birthday party. You go to school with her and talk about her often.  I honestly didn't want to go, but after thinking about it, I decided that I was being selfish and thought you would have fun! And it was fun! You rode a wagon around the yard, played in their water table, got soaked, made cupcakes, ate cupcakes, an drove a motorized car for the first time. We practiced singing happy birthday the whole way over there and you told her happy birthday as we were leaving. I'm glad we went! Next time I'll bring a change of clothes for you!!

We stayed for a long time and left with a cupcake of course! It's been over a week since that weekend, but my memory seems to think that we went home and hung out at the house for the rest of the night. Probably watched some Disney Princess movies :) at least that's what I did after you went to bed!

Sunday was one our busier days. I really wanted to get you a good, nutritional breakfast, so I took you to IHOP. Good dad huh?!? Yep! You have quite the craving for waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and milk. So it was the perfect place and honestly you ate like a champ. I don't know how to scramble eggs, so I have no problem paying someone else to do that for us!

On the way home, you said you wanted to go "cookie shopping", so we drove past the house and headed toward Publix. But we ended up at the Pet Supermarket to check the animals! They had a bunny, a ferret, some hamsters, cats, and fish. The ferret was extremely entertaining and we watched her goof around for a long time. Then it was off to the store for a cookie, a balloon, and a ride in the race car cart!

Tired! Yep! Nap! Yep!!

I got us a ticket for the Legos Kidsfest on Sunday afternoon. I knew they had a princess section and you've shown a little interest in Legos. It was cool. You were terrified of the life size Cinderella, but loved the lion! There were piles of Legos everywhere and we built a castle of our own. Then built some race cars and ran them down the track! Rocked in some rocking chairs and went up and down the escalator 7 times!

After this, you requested we go to the shops. First time I've heard this but I knew you meant OpryMills. So off we went!  Rainforest Cafe to look at some animals, Disney store to buy some princesses, cookie store to buy some cookies, hit the playground and went to ride on the choo choo train. You waved and said goodbye to everyone before the train pulled away. It was so funny and probably one of my favorite moments.

We headed back to the house and you took lots of pictures of yourself! I forget but probably 136 to be exact!!

One more night until mommy comes home!

Monday rolls around and it's time for school and work. First time I've made you a lunch for school too! Actually I made it the night before and put it in the fridge so I wouldn't have to worry about. It in the morning !!

It was a great weekend. So much more smoother than I had expected. I/We/You missed mommy a lot! We were ready for her to come home. And around dinner time on Monday night she walked through the door !!! We were both excited to see her and have her back!!

You've brought a lot of joy to our lives Reme Lynn. Everyday has its challenges and everyday also has its rewards. And it's worth every second of it!!

I love you my little monkey!!

Week 8 Year 2

Hey baby,

It was a very mellow week which we needed after such an eventful and busy vacation!

At this very moment you are getting to spend the weekend with you daddy while I'm out of town! It's the first time since you were born that I have been away from you overnight! I miss you and your daddy very much!

I love you,
Momma

Week 7 Year 2

Hey babe,

Back to Spring Break festivities....BUT before I forgot....your new "Reme-ism" lately is "Ok, s'coo"! It is my absolute favorite!! Your dad and I say it all the time so I know where you heard it and to hear you say it is awesome! It goes something like this - You: Water chair? Me: You want to play in the water? You: Yeah, ok, s'coo! Almost like the idea to play in the water wasn't yours! I love it! Also, when you see a picture of yourself you say, "That's you!" It's so hard to explain to you too! But we'll get there! Oh and one more thing...You pee-peed in the potty!!! For real! All by yourself! Just once but it was so exciting! You mentioned to me several times during the day that you needed to pee pee in the potty and I'd take you and you would have just gone so when we got home you mentioned it and sat on the potty and went!! This is great! You won't wear your glasses very often which is not great! One hurdle at a time I suppose!

Okay so...Day 4 of Spring Break 2015! We got up fairly early and headed to Gatlinburg! We walked the strip and stopped at Crockett's 1875 Breakfast Camp for some yummy breakfast and then we went to the aquarium! It was a very nice aquarium. Especially the penguin exhibit. You had a blast there. You mostly enjoyed anywhere you could crawl through a tunnel and there were a lot of opportunities for that!

Then we decided to take a drive through the Smoky Mountains! It was a beautiful day. Not too hot, not too cold, not to sunny...just right. It was also a perfect time for you to take a nap! We drove all the way up to Clingman's Dome, down to Cherokee, NC and back! You pretty much slept the entire time but you got in some good mountain views too!

Since you were nice and rested we decided to give mini-golf another chance. You were much more into it this time. You actually tried to play and hit the ball and you absolutely loved the course, it was Old MacDonald theme! We followed that up with some pizza & ice cream! It was a decadent day of food for us. We hardly ever eat like that!

There was an indoor pool at our hotel and we swam 2 of the 4 nights! You are getting brave in the water! Time for swim lessons! We were too busy playing to get a pic!

The next morning, we let daddy sleep in and headed out for some mommy-daughter time! We had some pancakes at Flap Jack's followed by a pedicure! Once daddy joined us we went and explored "The Island", rode more rides at "The Track" and then headed to the Titanic museum!

To be honest, I wasn't sure how you'd handle the museum but you did very good! Plus the museum had a special place for the kids to build the ship with Legos, try to steer the ship away from the iceberg and a place where you could experience the deck incline! We also got to touch an iceberg and feel how cold the water was on the night the ship sank! At the beginning we were given boarding passes of actual passengers and you were able to follow your story to see if you survived and WE DID!! It was really neat! I can't wait to take you back someday when you can really understand the story!

The next morning was Easter! Not sure how he knew where we were but the Easter bunny knocked on our door and left you an Easter basket! It had lots of treats, some fun Princess cups and shirts, a new bathing suit and a klip klop stable castle!!

You got a big kick out of feeding your dad some cookies!

Then it was off to the Knoxville Zoo!! They had several different animals than we have at our zoo and we got to feed a giraffe! It was so neat! You didn't want to feed him but wanted to watch us!

And as if that wasn't enough, we then drove back to Nashville and went to the Haverstick's Second Annual Egg Hunt! You were way more into playing than hunting eggs. It was so sweet to watch!

Phew! That was a lot! But you were also out of school on Monday so you go to spend the day with your dad! He took you too this cool toy store where you got to see some bunnies! I thought for sure you'd come home with one! (Secretly wishing you would too!) But alas no bunny!

The rest of the week we have been getting back to our routine! We did have a fun weekend with friends though. We had brunch with the ladies, did some shopping, went to a birthday party and had a picnic!

This sight took my breath away a bit. You just look so tall and grown up!

They put your hair up in a ponytail at school and you love wearing it that way! And it is as about as cute as it gets! Especially with the glasses but that will be a tough shot to get I know!

New favorite books: Tea Party Rules, Bunny Rabbit Show and Just One More. We read each no less than 3 times every night it seems like. Loving every second!

All my heart,
Momma
