Week 27 Year 1

Hey babe,
It was a mellow week this week and we needed the reset!

On Saturday we had brunch with friends, went shopping and then you had a date night with daddy while I went to see a play!

Sunday you had another play date with Bryn, your friend from Una! It was fun but way too quick!

You have started a new bedtime ritual consisting of running back and forth from the bedroom to the living room trying to get "Sheshe" (Stella) to chase you! It's so much fun! Then we read a bit and you are out with the exception of a little lite rocking every now and then! That's my fav!

I love you sweet girl! A whole bunch!

Week 26 Year 1

Reme,

We have had quite the adventurous week! It has also been a sad week though. My good friend Janet Horton passed away on Sunday August 17th. She and I have been great friends for the better part of 15 years. While I am very sad for the loss, it only makes each day, moment, breath, laugh, cry, kiss, hug and smile all that more precious. Janet loved life and lived it to the fullest! She came to visit us right after you were born! She always wanted me to me a momma! She thought it was in my destiny and said that if for some reason, I had never met "the one" (aka your dad) that she would make sure that I had a baby one way or another! Remind me to tell you more about her and that one day! I will miss her very very much!

We went to the lake this past weekend to celebrate Aunt Cole's birthday and had SO MUCH FUN! There were tons of kids of all ages there, mainly little girls and you couldn't get enough of them. You mostly watched them closely of course but also played with them as well. You liked being in the boat but didn't like it when I got in the water to ski! I love being in and near the water. Any type of water so I hope you grow to enjoy it as well! We stayed in a gorgeous house right on the water and the views were so peaceful!

Then is was time for another fair! This time it was the Wilson County Fair. We rode rides the entire time, ate some corn dogs and finished off the night with some ice cream! You like almost all of the rides but I think after a while it got to be a bit too much for you. Next time I'll know what to expect and we will explore the grounds more. The State Fair is next!

You fell asleep almost instantly once we got in the car and then transferred to your crib without even making a peep. You started crying pretty hard around 2am, we rocked in your room for a while and then you went back to sleep for about 5 minutes and then you started crying again. At first I was just going to let you cry it out but you seemed very distraught and I decided to go settle you down again, well I'm so glad I did because you had thrown up corn dog all over your bed! I felt terrible! I felt so bad for letting you have (giving you) that awful fair food! Don't get me wrong, it was delicious but too much for your tummy especially after all those rides and action! So I took you to our room to sleep with daddy while I cleaned up your crib and you got sick in there too! I'm so sorry baby! Finally we got everything all cleaned up and got back to sleep only to have to wake up for the day a few short hours later. We were all exhausted so the rest of the week has been full of school, work, dinner and sleep! Lesson learned on many fronts!

Life is all about lessons babe. Sometimes you don't realize they are happening but they are. I think writing these letters has helped me look back and see that too! All the time when I'm recalling our experiences I think to myself, "okay-I learned my lesson, or we learned a lesson or I think there's a lesson in there somewhere!" If only we could somehow realize what that lesson is before we do it so we don't do it but then we wouldn't learn it so...hmmm. I'll have to think about that one more!

We will make every moment count! We will look at life with joy and excitement! We will do our best not to take one think for granted!

I love you baby girl,
Mommy

18 Months

Happy 20th Month in this World!

(this picture is 2 months old)

You are exploring your boundaries a lot!

Your tantrums consist of the following:
  • "No, no, no, no, no!"
  • Throw whatever is in your hand or mouth on the ground
  • Throw yourself on the ground
  • Create saliva and spit it out of your mouth. I'm pretty sure you do this because you can't make yourself actually cry real tears yet.
  • Get distracted and stop
You make us a laugh a lot!!

You say lots of words with soft endings:
  • Da-ee (Daddy)
  • Qwa-cka (Cracker)
  • I see ew (I see you)
  • Do do (Dog dog)
  • Se-sa (Stella)
  • Uhv-u (Love you)
  • Ank ew (Thank you)
  • Ga ka ka (You're welcome)
  • Na na (Pacifier)
  • Yesh (yes)
  • Cher (cheers)
  • Chi chi (chicken)
  • Che (cheese)
  • Da (that)
  • Ki-ca (kitty cat)
You say lots of words very well:
  • Bye Bye
  • Apple
  • Momma
  • No
  • Chica
  • Elmo
  • Oh no
  • Elsha (Elsa)
  • Anna
  • Go
  • Puff
  • Off
You also say things that we have no idea what you're saying:
  • Habish
  • Ha-pi-ta
You ask me to sing Let it Go from Frozen every night before you go to bed! This is my favorite thing you do right now!

You can say "oh no" and "off" but won't say "Olaf"! You call him Elsha. (These are characters from the Frozen movie)

You love to play in your playroom. You still love your ball tent, your kitchen and then random items like DVD cases, game cases and plastic containers.

You're obsessed with taking things out of something and putting them back in over and over! It doesn't matter what it is but this process fascinates you.

You don't like to color but you like markers

You love the "Baby Shark" song

You have a good grasp on snapping! Seriously; you've almost got it down!

You have seen the movie Frozen about 5 times (maybe more) but only a few times all the way through.

You are enjoying sitting on the couch more and you'll actually sit there longer than 5 seconds sometimes

You call all animals by their sounds: (except a cat is still a cat just a ki-ca)
  • Moo (cow)
  • Quack quack (duck)
  •  Neigh (horse)
  • Ba (sheep & goat)
  • You make the panting sound for dog
  • Rwar (bear or lion)
  • Tweet tweet (bird)
  • Bbbbaaawww (elephant)
  • Ooo ooo ahh ahh (monkey)
You grin a huge sheepish grin and cock your head to the side when you think you're being funny or have done something funny

You love Puffs!

You most always start to throw food on the floor when you're done eating. This is not one of my favorite things that you do right now! I'm glad we have a dog!

You love to "puddle" in the sink (play with the water with bowls & cups)

You're a great shopping buddy (most times) although you don't seem to like Trader Joe's. I think the crowds stress you out.

You make us play Ring around the Rosies a lot and we never deny you! We love to play it too!

You're not a huge fan of sitting in your highchair anymore. You need a big girl chair now!

You like to "cheers" and sometimes "cheers" with our utensils too!

I can't believe you're 20 months old! 20 months on the 20th! That's some sort of golden birthday I think! Actually I think it'll be when you actually turn 20 years old but hey you'll only be 20 months once; right?!

I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love you!!!

Week 25 Year 1

Reme Lynn my love,

We had a bittersweet weekend by spending our last few days with Naw Naw and Pee Wee and then saying our goodbyes! It was such a nice visit and it was so kind of them to come to Tennessee to take care of you/us! We went to the mall on Friday night and visited your favorite restaurant The Aquarium! P thought it was pretty cool too! Then we took a must have spin on the merry go round!

Saturday morning we got up bright and early and decided to hit the zoo for a few hours before you dad and I had to go to the Street Theatre fundraiser. We met Mollie & Jaime there and had a ball! It was really cool to see Pee Wee experience the zoo for the first time especially since we've seen it so many times, it sort of brought on a new view of the zoo if that makes sense!

Sunday morning was sad because it was the day they left! BUT we quickly recovered with a celebration of Harrison's 2nd birthday!!! Yay! We went swimming, ate cake and played!! The two of you are civil with each other but you haven't quite fell in love yet! (I'm still hopeful) I think we just need to get you two together more often! You're only six months apart so I know you speak the same language!

This is you going in for a hug/kiss but you missed!

I was a little nervous about going back to school on Monday because you had been off for a week! I thought for sure day one was going to be a meltdown but nope...you walked right in, put your milk away, sat at the table and waved bye! I was stunned actually and I may have cried a little bit! You're such a big girl already!

This is your friend Kaelyn! She is very affectionate with me and you're not sure how you feel about that! I secretly like it when you get jealous when other kids love on me!

But Tuesday morning you were a different kid! When daddy woke you up you were whiny and crying and not your normal self at all! You weren't eating and then you burped and it made you cry! I knew then something was wrong. I decided to stay home and take you to the doctor. Sure enough...another double ear infection! Noo!! The doctor said it you got one more then we should consider getting tubes in your ears. I'm hoping you don't get another one but if you do then we'll just deal with it! The rest of the week drop offs were tearful. I could tell you weren't feeling 100% but you always ended up having a good day. You do have a tendency to be clingy with your teachers, especially when you're outside. Not sure what that is about. You love to be outside. It may be because you fell out there your first week and are just being cautious. All of the other times you are very social and play with your friends. You are learning some Sign Language and Spanish and apparently you have an interest in geography! Maybe your Gmomma was a little intuitive when she started your travel savings fund huh?!? You just might see the world my little explorer!

We went to a local farmer's market tonight and they had a travel art truck! You made me the sweetest necklace! I will cherish it forever! It was a family effort and you liked playing with the beads the most!

Everyday brings unimaginable joy, thank you!

I love you so very much,
Mommy

Week 24 Year 1

Hello my sweet one,

What a special week this has been! You've been on "Pre-Fall" break from school and your Naw Naw and cousin Pee Wee came to town to hang out with you for the entire week! Oh boy what fun we've had! You have been loving every second of it too! Not one whimper as I have left for work each day! You blow me a kiss and wave bye bye! It so warms my heart that you've gotten to spend time with them and have enjoyed it so!

Friday night we had a fun play/dinner date with the Goldens and Murdocks!

Saturday we went to TWO parties! One to find out our good friends the Grays are having a little boy and another to celebrate Candance's 2nd birthday!

Sunday was a day at the splash pad park and a pizza party!

Monday you had frog shaped pancakes, played in the pool and then we went for ice cream and a quick romp in the park!

Tuesday was craft day and we went to a bouncy house that afternoon!

Wednesday we went to the Williamson County Fair and it was SO cool! They had this amazing farm exhibit where you were able to go through the entire process of farming! You scooped corn, fed the chickens and got an egg, picked apples, brushed sheep for wool, went fishing, planted seeds and harvested your crops, milked the cows and then sold all of your work at the farmer's market and bought a treat with your earnings!

Then we rode some rides! You were once again fearless my child! You were ready for it all and wanted more! Had it not been way past your bedtime we would have stayed much later! What a great night!

There will be many more fairs in our future! The look on your face and the joy in your voice is too precious for words! You are growing up so very quickly! Everyday you seem to do and discover something new! It's hard to look at you and see my little baby! I look at you and see this little girl! How did that happen?!?

I love you so very much,
Mommy
