Week 39 or 21 Months

Reme Lynn,

Happy 21st Month in this World

I'm a little late in posting so I'm going to go ahead cover what we've been up to the past two weekends! First and foremost you turned 21 months old! Happy day! You continue to grow, change, explore and have fun!

We celebrated my birthday! Your daddy made me a really sweet video of you and sent this picture!

Last year's pic!

We went to dinner with the Janiszewski's and let you girls run around the mall for awhile! It was a wonderful evening and I feel truly blessed! I often thought to myself how I felt I was born to be your mommy so spending my birthday with you is what I want to do most of all!
We celebrated the birthday of Sweet Clementine's first birthday!

Baby Emma was there!!!

Silly hat!

Our big challenge these days is dealing with not sharing. And it's not really just the fact that you don't want to share but you get pretty aggressive. You often scream very loudly, pull something out of someone's hands and I've seen you push several people to get what you want or to get them to stop doing something. This is not okay. The pushing part and I'm trying to figure out the best way to deal with the situations. I haven't found the solution yet but challenge accepted!

The sweetest little boy came over on this activity table with you and you pushed him and said no and proceeded to drag the entire toy under the piano. Honestly, I didn't know what to do or to say really. I tried to calmly explain that pushing was not acceptable and removed you from situation. It's totally natural and we'll get it figured out!

We had your first official Thanksgiving luncheon at school! It was very nice! The food was yummy and you seemed so proud that I was there! It made my day!

This is your bestie Avery!

You ate 2 of those rolls!

I so wanted to lay on that mat and take a nap with you!
It's what you're supposed to do after a Thanksgiving meal!

This past Friday threw us a curve ball!It was business as usual. We made dinner, had a picnic in the living room, played and got ready for bed! All was well. Then after reading and some rocking, we came out to give daddy a goodnight kiss and as he was handing you back to me you tossed your cookies! Well more like cheerios and craisins! No fun! Where did that come from?! We got you all cleaned up and thought you were fine. You seemed fine anyway. You were calm, normal and we went back to rocking. Then as I laid you into bed, you blew more chunks! Yikes! This time it was more! We got all cleaned up, changed your bedding and as we were about to relax again, up came some more! This time I got it right in the face! Yum! Then we took a shower! We chilled out on the couch and eventually you passed out! After a good while we put you in your crib and went to bed. About 2 hours later, you were calling for me and you had an explosive diaper! You poor thing! We got that all cleaned up and decided to bring you to bed with us. Well after a couple of dry heaves, you and I decided to try to get some rest on the couch where we could sit upright a little. That seemed to work but we slept very little. Eventually the next morning, you were eating, drinking and feeling normal again. You didn't have a fever, no other symptoms so it had to have been something you ate! All I can think of is that you had a hoagie bun. Maybe all of the wheat? We've been eating so clean lately, it could have just been the processed bread that your body rejected. Or it could have been some sort of stomach virus. Who knows! I was so relieved you were better the next day!

Relaxing

Daddy had to work on Saturday but he sent us funny videos and pictures to keep us laughing! This made you so very happy!
Here is your response to one of his pictures!

A long over due nice long three hour nap!

Once Daddy came home, we decided to get some air and get out a bit. We went to the mall, ran some errands and stopped at our new favorite sushi place for some dinner!

Trying out some chopsticks! You did great!

Today we spent a lovely afternoon at your BF's house! The two of you kept her mom and I in stitches! You were running around chasing each other, giggling and screeching! Of course you had your normal "mine" moments and you pushed her several times! Grrr! All in all it was so much fun!

 Too darn cute!

The week of Thanksgiving is upon us and we have some much to be thankful for! Our friends are certainly one of them!

I love you baby girl,
Momma

Week 38 Year 1

Reme,

We saw Dr. Morgan today to get a follow up on your ears and you passed with flying colors! You can now officially hear and both ears which of course your daddy and I already knew! So happy! You are a new kid really. You haven't been sick at all and you are just overall happier!

We had a nice productive, fun and mellow weekend! Friday we had a nice family dinner out at what may become our favorite sushi place! It's right around the corner too! So good! Then on Saturday we worked our little booties off doing a school yard clean up! We worked so hard and it looks so much nicer now! Although we'd still like to do some more work on the garden area! Bambini has been great for us and I feel confident you love it as much as we do!

Later that afternoon we went to a little girl's birthday party. To be honest we didn't really know her. Her mom posted a need for children at her party because all of her other friends and family got sick. We were skeptical but I'm so glad we went. It meant a lot to little Gracie and her mom went all out! You had a ball and met some very sweet children!

Followed by a wonderfully fun trip to Target! Boy of boy does your daddy spoil us!

Sunday we worked around the house all day! Your daddy worked in the yard getting it all cleaned up for the winter and made us a huge pile of leaves to play in! You weren't having any of those leaves! Not sure why but you were very scared of them! It was sweet! I wish there had been some other kids around so you could have seen what to do! I tried but I don't think you believed me! Next year maybe!

The next morning you were a little more adventurous but still not sold on the whole "let's jump into the pile of leaves" thing!

Kindermusik has been hit or miss this go around. I think some days you are just too tired after a long day at school. Overall though we are having a good time and I know it is beneficial for you!

Fall is so wonderful and winter is here! Now let's get ready for some Christmas cheer...after Thanksgiving!

I love you bebe,
Momma

Week 37 Year 1

Hey little monkey butt,

What a fun Halloween weekend we had!  It started at your school's celebration on Thursday. All of the kids were going to dress up and the parents were invited to watch you parade around in your costumes! I learned that 1) you are not a fan of surprises and 2) chaos and loudness freak/bum you out. When I showed up at school you had already been changed into your costume. The kids were playing and being loud and you sort of stood there in the middle of the room taking it all in until you saw me and you lost it! I was dressed as The Man with the Yellow Hat again which you had seen me dressed as before but this time you did not seem to like it. You also didn't like that I wasn't scooping you up to go home and you didn't like the fact that I was playing with the other children and taking photos. You wanted 100% of my full attention and just in general you were uneasy and not comfortable with the situation. Everyone looked adorable though and I'd like to think you had some fun!

That's your bestie Avery!

Finally after the inside festivities it was time to go outside and that's when I knew you were really not in a good place because you didn't even want to go outside AND when we got there you not only wouldn't leave my side but you were very unhappy! After about a half hour I had to go back to work and reluctantly left you totally hysterical! I was crushed! I'm glad I went but was totally second guessing it! Maybe it would have been easier on you if I had not been there. Maybe it was too confusing for you. Ugh! I'm so sorry if I made the day more difficult! I never want to see you distraught!

The next day was HALLOWEEN! Your Grandpa Ron and Mimi decided to come in for the weekend and our first stop was trick or treating! Your first official trick or treating "experience"! We went to a mall (once again but last year we didn't really trick or treat) because it was so yucky outside. Daddy went as the man and I went as a balloon vendor!

Mollie Jaime were there too!

On Saturday we decided to make the trip up to the Chattanooga Aquarium! What a fun fun day! You were a mile a minute and loved every second! I was impressed because you didn't (once again) take a nap! (That is becoming a weekend habit) Nonetheless it was a blast!

 Singing the "Baby Shark" song!

More adventures to follow the next day as we spent some nice quality time with Grandpa & Mimi, did a little shopping and then went to Averie Grace's SIXTH birthday party at Glow-Galaxy! What a cool place to have a party! Crazy thing was that this time, you didn't want to have anything to do with the bouncy houses! BUT we slid up and down the slide a hundred times at least! It was a great day and so wonderful to celebrate our great friend!

We sadly said goodbye to Grandpa and Mimi that night! You are tepid around them now but I know that someday soon you'll understand who they are and how much they love you and how fun they are to be around! They showered you with gifts! You received a thoughtful Halloween basket with trinkets, books and candy! They also bought you a couple of souvenirs from the aquarium! A shark and penguin!

The rest of the week has been business as usual! Here is your new favorite way to read! You like to get all of your animal friends in your rocking chair and you must have the blanket and then I have to sit on floor to read to you which I gladly do because we're reading and that's all that matters!

You are slightly obsessed with Frozen right now! You DO NOT want to take off your Frozen pjs in the morning and want to watch the movie every night and listen to the soundtrack the second we get in the car! It's endearing but...it's engraved into my brain now!

Honestly though, I cherish every moment, they are fleeting and change so often. I want to embrace them all, the good, the bad, the adorable, the annoying, the fascinating, the ugly, the pretty and the simple! All of them!

We were grocery shopping tonight and you were being funny. Sort of talking to yourself and to me and being silly and we passed a mother and her daughter who was about 24 or 25 and the mother looked at you with a glimmer of a secret understanding in her eye and the daughter sort of chuckled and I said, "you were this size and this age just yesterday!" and the mother said, "yes she was". The daughter said, "more like 22 years ago" and the mother said, "No, it was yesterday." The daughter didn't get it but the mother and I did. It all goes by way too fast and I promise you I will do my very best to take no moment for granted. Not one! I will cherish them all. That's not to say it's all going to be peaches and roses but I get it. I get it's all a series of quick glimpses, phases and ultimately moments of purpose. Deep breath. This is big. Your daddy said/texted something really cool today! After sending him our daily video of you saying "hi" he wrote; "Never thought I'd love someone they way I love you two! Sounds like song lyrics!" And it does. You made our life musical, joyful, dramatic and meaningful!

Thank you baby,
Momma
