Week 2 Year 2

Boo! This week has been tough!

It started out fun! We had your 2nd year check up on Friday and you are doing great! (27.8lbs & 33") The doc is a bit concerned about your eyes. You have an astigmatism in one eye and your "gaze is off". So we need to see a specialist.

The worst part of the visit was the finger prick! Ouch! You did NOT like this (and I don't blame you), you seemed most distraught by the band aid on  your finger, than anything else. We stopped at our favorite store Publix for a little treat before going back to class!

You started to have just a touch of a cough on Saturday but we were hoping it was nothing and then BOOM...Sunday you woke up with a fever.

I was hoping it was a Saturday Night Fever because we had such a ball at the Parisi wedding! You danced it up and we all had so much fun!

But alas...it was a true illness. Most (if not all) of your class has gotten this virus! It's a long lasting, nasty upper respiratory virus that can last up to FOUR weeks! NOOOOOO!!!!

It  has been a challenging week, keeping you comfortable, managing work schedules and your many changing very emotional mood swings! Don't get me wrong....I totally understand you feel yucky but boy oh boy...it's so hard on all of us! Thank goodness Auntie Cole was able to hang with you a few hours on Tuesday!!

We have done it all! (by the way there was snowstorm on Thursday) We have played every game, in every room, watched every single (and I mean every stupid 25 minute long Sofia the XXXXing First) episode, not to mention your new favorite Cinderella several dozen times, we've painted, we've puzzled, we've foamed, we've played dress up, we've tried on every single pair of your shoes, we've jumped on the bed, we've jumped in the ball pit, we've baked cookies, we've made eggs, practiced slicing bananas, we've discussed the finer points of vegetable gardening, we've played safari (a lot), we've stamped, we've played in your kitchen, we've "puddled" in the water, we've chased Stella, we've taken lots of baths and lots of steam rooms, we've practiced using the potty (no actual pee in the potty yet though), we played outside in the snow, we built a snowman (although admittedly lame), we fed the birds, we played transfer, we've colored, we've decorated hats and boxes and forts and me, we've done it all! I mean all of it! Now it goes without saying (I pray that it does) that I love you unconditionally with all of my heart and soul and that I get you are uncomfortable and just as frustrated with your illness as me but PHEW child...that whining thing you do, that constant, irritated, nails on a chalkboard whine that also includes a "no, no, no, no, no" has got me on edge. Not in a bad why (totally)...but in one of those, I promised myself and my sweet amazing wonderful child that I would embrace every phase way. It's just hard my love. It's hard on all of us and I'm so sorry we have to go through this but I know we'll be stronger on the other side!

The doctor says we are doing all of the right things and I SOOO can't wait for you ( and all of us) to be healthy again!

I am thankful that 1 - you haven't been sick since October and that 2 - you are indeed very healthy, just dealing with the crud! Go away crud! Go!

Get better soon my love,
Momma
