The Disney Adventure
Magic Kingdom
Although we were very tired we bounced out of bed like Tigger and quickly got ready to see the most "Magical Place on Earth"! Like the day before we made early breakfast reservations had this time had breakfast with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore & Pigglet! You seemed to like Eeyore the best though. His "handler" came over first and sort of scoped you out and said that she'd tell Eeyore to be easy with you and let you come to him! Well that worked because you two seemed to have a nice moment together and then you couldn't take your eyes off of him! It was so sweet!
After breakfast we headed quickly to Fantasyland! Walked around and explored the sights and sounds and our first ride was one of the most famous rides ever. "It's a Small World"! We weren't sure if you were going to enjoy the rides or not but you were in your element! Lots to look at and to take in! I think you may have liked the rides more than the hotel room! Once we realized that we rode as much as we could get on! "Winnie the Pooh", "Mad Tea Cups" & "Peter Pan"!
You hated that hat!
And were determined to get that honey pot!
It got hot and I mean really hot, as a matter of fact we walked over to Adventureland and was about to explore the Swiss Family Robinson Tree house and you looked weird. You weren't very responsive and I got worried. We went to the baby care center where you could cool off and have some lunch. Daddy brought us a yummy Dole Whip ice cream treat! Once you were back to your normal self we then decided to walk to Tomorrowland and on the way you fell asleep which was perfect! We all went to a nice air conditioned arcade so you could nap and your dad and I played video games! After about an hour or so you woke up just in time for "Aerial's Under the Sea Adventure" ride! So beautiful! And fun!
Followed by a quick trip in Gaston's Tavern for the world's largest cinnamon roll! Oddly enough you decided not to try any of it. It was so delicious though! You'll have to give a whirl next time!
That's you saying, "this is all you guys!"
So..we were going to watch the parade but the sun was a beast and it was hot and there was no where to stand so we took advantage of the people break and ventured into the "Haunted Mansion"! You even liked the scary ride! I was a little nervous that it might be too scary but it's Disney and even the scary stuff is okay for kiddos!
Our final ride was "The Jungle Cruise", I so wish it had been cooler and safer for you to be in that heat! We would have stayed and rode lots of more things but once again we were hopeful to get you back to the hotel napped, fed and ready for the fireworks!
Back at the hotel we took a quick detour to the splash pad to cool off, had a snack and you didn't fight us to nap at all! You were ready!
It was late (8:30pm) but you were napped, rested, fed and hey we're on vacation right?!? So we drug you back to the park for some night time action. And wouldn't you know it, our timing was perfection! We walked up right as the bus was arriving; no waiting. Walked right through the gates and got a stroller; no waiting. THEN luck would have it a front row spot just waiting for the taking; and we took it! The Electric Parade was so cool! So many lights and sights and sounds! It was awesome!
Fireworks time!
What I really wanted to do then was to go ride some more rides! I mean come on; it's only 11pm and you're a one year old; that make sense right?!? No, it didn't and we didn't and I'm glad but NEXT time...
What an amazing day! It really was! Our family of three really travels well together! Many more travels in our future my sweet; that I you can be assured!
We had some time the next morning and was able to sleep in, goof off and really take our time. We decided to take one last walk around the resort. Let me tell ya; your Mimi would be proud! You stopped and examined and smelled and took in every bush, flower and green thing on the grounds. It was so heartwarming to watch. Your propensity as an adult is to say; "come on-let's go" but we just took our sweet time and decided to smell the daffodils and pine cones and random weeds. Why not; right?!?
I'd like to say that our trip home was just as smooth as our trip there but we were all tired and it was the first time in our traveling history that you had a bit of a meltdown on the plane. Not terrible but you let us and the rest of the passengers know that you were ready to be home! You fell asleep on the car ride from the airport home and then slept thirteen long well deserved hours!
I'm sure I sound totally cheesy when I say that this trip was truly magical and quite perfect but I will always remember it that way. I honestly don't think it could have gone any better! You are one cool kid! I so enjoy being around you. You can throw a tantrum and you get dramatic but hey; let's face it; you totally get that from me so I can't fault you!
I love you my little monkey mouse! From your head, shoulders to your knees and toes!
