52 Weeks

Tomorrow is the big day! I'm speechless really. I have so much inside that I think..I want...I know that I have to say but for some reason I can't seem to form the words, thoughts and advice. I'm sure it will come out sooner or later. I'm just not feel so eloquent at the moment. I'm too retrospective right now. All I can think about is your beautiful soul and how blessed I am to be in your world!

You fought a strong battle with a virus this past week. It was very scary for me. It started on Valentine's day. You woke up with a fever of 102.5 and at times it would spike to as high as 104.4. You didn't have any other symptoms so the doctor never wanted us to bring you in but we called her a couple of times. Finally in the wee hours of the morning Sunday morning you kicked that virus' butt! Nice work! Now you are a new kid!

Your Gmomma, Aunt Mindy and Cousin Aubrey arrived yesterday to start the celebration! You are really enjoying them being here.

I did not want to put you down tonight. It's surreal my sweet child! Just indescribable to me right now.

I love you more than words can even come close to explain!

51 Weeks

Réme Lynn,

You are on fire kid! Seriously! You are go go go! You are certainly expressing you strong will and independence! Especially at Kindermusik & bedtime! You want to call shots and get very upset when you don't get your way! I suppose this is all part of becoming the person you were born to be! To be honest I'm not totally sure what to do or how to react. Sometimes let you do your thing and other times we create boundaries and stand our ground. I want you to explore and grow but I also hope you will learn control and respect. I know you may be too young to really understand respect but I feel like we need to show you and lead you in that direction. 

Bedtime had been the worst! Saturday night it became a five hour ordeal! We finally won around 1am! You are teething like crazy and it is obviously painful. I'm so sorry baby, I wish I could take that pain away from you! You are a drooling machine! We were at the mall on Saturday & had to buy an emergency outfit because the one you were wearing got soaked! 

We also had two birthday parties to go to on Saturday! I so love the idea of many years of multiple birthday parties!! We had a ball! Especially at Tanner's party which was at Monkey Treehouse, an indoor playground that had an area especially for you! 

One of the only photos I have from the weekend because my phone died & I had to get a new one! 

Remember how I told you that I wanted to remember the little moments? We'll we had a great one those weekend! Sunday morning you were really playful and full of energy (not sure why since you only slept about four hours) and we rolled around and played on my bed for about 30 minutes! You would stand up and just fall backwards into the cushion of the blankets! You thought that was hilarious! (Have I mentioned you love being upside down?) it was a very special moment, the joy in your eyes, the excitement, the sound of your laugh! 

You give great kisses and hugs now! I so love that glimmer in your eye as you lean in for one!

Apparently you took 5 steps at school today!!!! Slow down! No need to walk for several more months! ;-)

50 Weeks

Réme Lynn,

Time really is going by too fast! I know I say it every week but you are constantly changing! Your new thing this week has been waking up around 1am and then once we come check on you and settle you down you pretend to be asleep but the second we leave the room you start crying. It has gotten to where we are having to let you cry it out in five minute increments too. It's so strange. Then once you're truly asleep you sleep about eight hours straight! 

You started cocking your pacifier to one side! 

 

It really is adorable! 

We had a nice relaxing weekend! Preparations for your birthday party are in full swing!

You are starting to come out of your shell in music class! You love your teacher Ms. Amy! You are always crawling over to her and she love that too! You like to test out each instrument and then quickly move to the next one. You sing "cat cat cat" to every song too! 

You are standing on your own all the time and have even taken a step or two! Slow down baby! You don't have to walk yet! 

You have discovered to joy of drawers & Tupperware!

49 Weeks

Reme Lynn,

I must be in denial because I forgot to write you a letter last night! That is the first time that has happened! I'm not sure what I was thinking, I knew you turned 49 weeks old. Your Gmomma sends us a text every Wednesday morning too! Your daddy and I even talked about it so I'm blaming it on denial. I'm glad you're getting older and I'm sad you're getting older! You are literally growing everyday! You've gotten taller and your face is changing! 

We had a fun filled weekend with the circus, game night and the zoo!! You loved the circus! You were especially into the acrobats but you totally fell asleep during the finale! Confetti canons, hundreds of people signing and dancing and a loud band! Perfect environment for a nap! 

We finally got a decent day with some warm sun to get outside! We had a lovely time as always!

I'm holding on to these last few weeks as tightly as I can! You'll be a whole year old soon!! It's not that I don't want you to be, it's just that I want to savor every second!

48 Weeks

I don't have a ton to report this week. We've been trying to get back into a routine with some difficulty. You are so very upset when I drop you off for school! It's heartbreaking! 

Your daddy was smart to remind me  about the Wonder Weeks and sure enough you're going through the leap of Sequences. You're figuring out how things works and in what order and that actions have results! So this phase shall too pass! I just hope it's soon! Another sign of this transition is shyness and you have been unusually shy lately too! Oh and let's not forget that you have only slept through the night once maybe twice in the last 2 months! Another sign of transition! That one is my favorite! Arg! 

We went shopping on Saturday and rode a Merry go round! You loved it and didnt want to stop! You were having so much fun! It was so sweet!!

We also started another Kindermusik class! This one has children closer to your age! Although you never venture very far from my reach you are exploring more and singing & dancing a lot!

Eleven Months! How is that possible?

47 Weeks

You said your first official word! Cat! Actually it was kitty cat. The first time you said it I passed it off as a fluke. We were at dinner with Mark, Holly, Jon Jon, Alan & Daddy at the Italian place on the resort called Capers. We were waiting for dinner to arrive while you & I were playing the Guess the Animal game on my phone. You would make a noise when your favs would go by dog, cow, chick, frog then came the cat and plain as day you said "kitty cat"! Uncle Mark looked up with such surprise in his eye, she said kitty cat!!! Maybe I thought! Then at the airport we were shopping for souvenirs and you got all excited, "kitty cat, cat, kitty cat"! I looked and on a rack there were a bunch of stuffed animals but I didn't see a cat. Fish, dolphin, mermaid? Nope, kitty cat! And there it was!! A tiny little stuffed black & white cat!! I ran to find your dad! Brought him to the rack, what's this Réme Lynn?? Cat! Kitty cat! 

We had an amazing time in Mexico! You travel so well!! The resort was very nice and our room was lovely! They had a crib for you and everything! 

You only actually slept in it once but you played in it a lot! 

It was rainy the first two days but we made the best of it! You loved spending time getting to know your cousins! 

Your new favorite food is a cheese quesadilla and pancakes! Not together but those were the two things you enjoyed the most! Each morning we'd head to the Carnival restaurant and eat on the patio! It was gorgeous!! And delicious!! 

The wedding was gorgeous! You weren't your normal party girl self that night and passed out in my arms just as they cut the cake! We did the Cuban Shuffle and the headed back to our room a little early but we had a delightful time! So happy for Dru & Jaime! We wish them all the happiness in the world! 

I was so glad that we were able to spend so much time with Uncle Mark & Aunt Holly too!! We had many meals with them and they loved snuggling with you!! 

Some of my favorite moments were our naps on the beach!! So peaceful! I could do that every day!! 

Our last day there it was just me, you & daddy and we had such a great time! We ate, napped, played by the pool and beach! Just perfection!!

We took an elevator selfie every day! You loved that mirror!!

It's really hard for me to imagine that you are almost 11 months old!! You grow so much each day! You have all kinds of new sounds, moves and moods! You are a pure joy my child!
